The bus that our church uses for youth events and summer day camp is beyond repair. A campaign to replace the bus is underway to raise the funds needed to replace it. People from the congregation were asked to take an envelope with a donation on it and return it to the church to make purchasing a new bus a reality. Each envelop also includes the first name of a camper to pray for and the week they are attending. When all these are taken, the bus will be paid for AND all the campers will have a prayer over them as they attend camp.

After 3 years in her previous soccer cleats, Kezia got an upgrade today:
She kindly informed me that these might be the last cleats that I ever buy her...cue the tears...

Before I left the very last Jazz Cabaret that Kiandra will ever perform in, I asked Kiandra to make sure she got a picture of herself with her sax for the last time...and she did:

We couldn't go for ice cream after the concert because of Kaden's ball hockey game and so Kezia came up with the perfect plan to go before the choir concert!

Conrad snapped this milestone this evening while I was at the Festival of the Arts at our school with Kaden. Tonight was Kiandra's last high school band concert.

This girl just scored her first goal of the outdoor season this evening... Kezia wasn't even playing forward! She let me snap this photo but that might be because I promised to get her a Slurpee! :)

I'm so thankful for the friends that Kezia has made through her involvement in soccer. I snapped this quick photo as Kezia's teammate greeted her with an enthusiastic hello and a sidehug walk to the field.

Usually Kaden practically begs for Conrad to pick him up when we have early dismissal staff meeting because he doesn't like to wait around at school for me. Today, however, he told Conrad not to pick him up in favour of hanging out with some friends and I ended up waiting for him. (You can see the faint figures of Kaden and 2 of his friends he stayed with after school in the mirror walking towards me).

Conrad texted me this photo from their camping experience this morning...

We had a guest come to speak to us during chapel about his experiences in Ethiopia. A Mom from my classroom offered to bring Ethiopian food to share with the class. What a feast we had!

Opposites attract...I'm always cold (note the boots and jeans --and the tights underneath!) and Conrad is always warm (note the flip flops and and shorts!).

Even though it doesn't feel much like Spring outside, one of my grade 1 friends brought in a bouquet of dandelions that proved that it is on the way.

This guy had his "welcome to high school" meeting with the principal this afternoon. He may be ready...but his Mom is not.

We ended up having about an hour between Jen's concert and our dinner plans so we headed to the mall. We saw the Coca-cola tent where they had an event promoting the women's Fifa World Cup. The kids got to shoot on a mechanical goalie, pose in the TSN sports booth, get a free coke....
...and pose with the trophy.

I don't think there are any sweeter words when you arrive on the soccer field on a day like this and your daughter says, "We won by forfeit...they other team didn't have enough players." I'd say that's a win for everyone! ;)

Kaden was a bit surprised when Kiandra decided to come out to "watch" his first ball hockey game tonight.
