We didn't carve pumpkins this year but Kezia painted a mini pumpkin that I picked up from a staff member who was cleaning out her garden.

Volleyball tournament for Kaden this weekend...
He was thankful for games at 4:00, 4:45, and 5:30 so he could still make it to youth group right after.

I stole this pic from Kaden's instagram account:
It was boys night out at the hockey game. Kaden got Conrad tickets to the game for a Father's Day gift and got a super good deal on them because of a BOGO in the coupon book.

Yesterday's Bible in a Year and Beyond reading provided a great devotion inspiration for my family group chapel this morning. I read them the story of David having Saul brought into his hands and then David's choice to act differently from what anyone would have expected. To help my family group to remember that we can choose to act differently and choose to be peaceful in the face of people who act harshly to us I gave them a piece of cut fabric. David used the piece of fabric that he cut from Saul's robe to show Saul that he had the chance to kill him and yet David chose not to even though Saul was out to kill him.

That time I asked Kaden to take my picture in the Sobey's parking lot because I wanted to document day 20 of the October Dress Project:

The kids brought this brochure home from youth this evening. It looks like at least 2/3 of my children are planning to head on a mission trip to Mexico next summer.

I appreciate that my family likes participating in this blog. Today Kezia texted me this:
with these pics from Kaden's volleyball tournament while I was at our school's staff meeting and then evening farewell for two former staff members.

I was able to catch the last 1 1/2 sets of Kaden's volleyball game after yearbook and then we stopped for a slurpee before the board meeting at my school. At 16 degrees, it felt like a slurpee kind of day.

Making cranberry sauce for tomorrow's lunch with Conrad's family. Note to self: do not tell Conrad to buy cranberries at Costco because he will come home with a bag the size of a pillow!

Today was the day Kaden's volleyball ended early and our school had opening program so I had to stay late....of course. Kaden texted me this:
I guess he's adding his twist to our Fall decorating. (Today's text reminded me of this post)

There are some advantages to staying at school until 9:30pm on days when Kaden has volleyball...no lineup at the laminator and plenty of time to cut all my pieces out.

Our school has planned a two day inservice today and tomorrow....and the school calendar called it a "retreat". Two days of sitting in chairs is not a "retreat" so a few teacher decided to visit the spa today and we spent almost 6 hours relaxing together...now that's a retreat!
