Our garage looked like this when I got home from school:

Kiandra's friend Chase had asked her to help run a soccer skills tournament today. It makes me laugh to think of the two of them running it because they probably have exactly the same interest in soccer (none!) and it rained for most of the day. At least they will earn a good paycheck for their time.

Kezia was invited by her friend Jenna to the woman's soccer game this evening. I asked if she would share a photo from the evening and this is what she sent me:

My friend Janice came out to cheer for Kezia's team as they had their first tournament game. Janice's attendance prompted Kiandra to also come out for the game. The game ended in a 1-0 loss for Kezia's team.

After 3 years in her previous soccer cleats, Kezia got an upgrade today:

She kindly informed me that these might be the last cleats that I ever buy her...cue the tears...

This girl just scored her first goal of the outdoor season this evening... Kezia wasn't even playing forward! She let me snap this photo but that might be because I promised to get her a Slurpee! :)

I'm so thankful for the friends that Kezia has made through her involvement in soccer. I snapped this quick photo as Kezia's teammate greeted her with an enthusiastic hello and a sidehug walk to the field.

We ended up having about an hour between Jen's concert and our dinner plans so we headed to the mall. We saw the Coca-cola tent where they had an event promoting the women's Fifa World Cup. The kids got to shoot on a mechanical goalie, pose in the TSN sports booth, get a free coke....

...and pose with the trophy.

I don't think there are any sweeter words when you arrive on the soccer field on a day like this and your daughter says, "We won by forfeit...they other team didn't have enough players." I'd say that's a win for everyone! ;)

It was a tight game for Kezia's U15 soccer team with a 3-3 finish for their first playoff game on the A side.
